Ridge roller coaster ride!
Tribe topples Titans, 43-29

The Redskins celebrated Homecoming Saturday on a crisp, sunny afternoon - perfect weather for football. And as the 'Skins and Titans battled on the field, the coaches began their game of chess with each trying to out maneuver the other with formations and superior positioning designed to gain the upper hand.

With all due respect, will someone please teach Coach Schmidt how to play chess.

The reason we say that is the object of chess is to surround and protect your king. You must guard him with everything you have, for when he is captured, the game is over.

Coach Schmidt did exactly the opposite. Rather than hiding his most important piece, he unleashed his Homecoming King, Kitt Anderson, as well as Homecoming Court member Andrew Flogel on the Titans. It proved to be more than South could handle, as the King and his Court went on a second half rampage and scoring spree on the befuddled defenders. King Anderson and Prince Flogel combined for five touchdowns. King, errr Kitt caught a touchdown pass and ran for 2 more while the Prince threw for two and lugged one across on the ground for good measure.

We might be remiss, though, if we didn't point out the first half started out rather slow. A couple of early turnovers kept the Tribe off the scoreboard and had them down by a score at the end of one. Actually, it was the 'Skins who were befuddled as each time they scored the Titans would forge ahead with points of their own. In fact, the first half closed with the Titans on top 26-14.

The second half, however, caused the first to be quickly forgotten as Neshaminy came out looking like a team with something to prove. And that's just what they did, scoring four  touchdowns to take the lead for good and put the game away.

On a positive note, the Moleskinners continue to get strong support from their underclassmen as junior Jason Ulmer added another TD (giving him 7 on the year) while sophomore Paul Carrezola grabbed an aerial for his first TD of the season.

As the Redskins take their record to 5-2, they can now look forward to an important match at North Penn next Friday.

See you there.
