...Brittingham, who went into the game leading all
of Division II in rushing yards per game, finished
the day with 27 carries for 235 yards and two
scores. He set a new school and Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) record for rushing yards
in a single-season with 2,060, breaking the mark of
2,038 set by Bloomsburg's Irv Sigler in 1997.
Bloomsburg Football Sweeps PSAC East Player of the
Week Honors
BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University football team
swept this week's Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) East Player of the Week awards.
Tailback Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/ Neshaminy)
won PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week and
defensive back Tyler Trettin (Hummelstown/ Hershey)
won PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week for their
efforts in the Huskies 42-35 victory over West
Chester on Saturday.
Brittingham ran for 211 yards and three touchdowns,
including the game winner with 47 seconds left, and
caught six passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Brittingham now holds the PSAC record for rushing
touchdowns in a season with 28. He passed former
Bloomsburg tailback Irv Sigler who rushed for 25
touchdowns in 1996. Brittingham also ranks first in
the nation in rushing averaging 182.5 yards per game
and is tied for first in scoring averaging 18 points
per game. This is the fifth time this season that
Brittingham has won the player of the week award.
